Tonight as I was
putting the boys to sleep, Gabe (3 years old) asked, “Mom, do you know what the
biggest is?” “What?” I asked. “God,” he said. “Yes!
You are so smart!” I exclaimed as I kissed him on the forehead, to which
he replied, “Yeah, I’m probably actually sixteen.” “Oh, I’m sure,” I agreed. He then added, “And Jesus died on the cross.” “He sure did”, I said. Then Nico (six years) chimed in, “Yeah, and
that’s when we gave him all of our sins.”
I really love those guys.

Drive-by Gluing
Sooo, I'm working on
getting out the glue and whiteout that Nico covered Gabe's head in during the
night, when Nico comes in claiming he needs medical attention for the
"atomic wedgie" his brother just gave him over a property line
dispute (a.k.a., the fort). The point of
the story: ...I have no idea.
Is Goodly a Word?
Sierra: Is “goodly”
a word?
Me: You mean godly?
Sierra: No, like
good - goodly.
Me: No…uh, in what
context were you considering using it?
Sierra: Like, “They
handled it goodly.”
(Deep sigh) It looks
like I’m going to have to talk to myself again…as this requires a stern
conversation with her English teacher….

Jesus-in-the-Box
My first conversation of the day- Gabe to me: "God really loves me and so
He put Jesus in a box and put Him in a hole and then He brought Him out
again. And Jesus loves me too. And so do you and daddy."

This really just happened. Really.
Me: Christian, why did you push Nicolas?
Christian: ‘Cause he stabbed me.
Me: You stabbed him?
Nico: Well he hit me!
Christian: Well you were stabbing my stuffed animals!
Nico: Well you couldn’t even see the holes in them!

Teddy Girlfriend
As Tony was putting the boys down to bed tonight, he turned off the lights. From the dark, he heard two-year old Gabe say, “Now I can’t see my girlfriend” in reference to his teddy bear.

Barbie World
Sierra: I don’t like Barbies.
Me: That was random. Where did that come from?
Sierra: I don’t know. I was just thinking about it. They don’t boost my self-confidence.
Me: That’s okay. You don’t have to have any then.
Sierra: Self confidence?
Me: No…Barbies.
